Well Played Studios designed an interactive AR experience that integrated Visa tap-to-pay technology with NFL-related activities. Fans could explore how the payment system works by interacting with virtual elements, making learning fun and seamless within the NFL experience.

The team recreated NFL merchandise as detailed 3D models, allowing fans to explore products in AR before making a purchase. By enabling users to view and interact with items like jerseys, hats, and memorabilia in virtual space, Well Played Studios enhanced the shopping experience, making it both dynamic and immersive.

Well Played Studios developed a comprehensive training program for event staff, ensuring they were proficient in using the AR app and explaining its features to fans. The training focused on both technical aspects and customer engagement, helping staff provide a smooth and enjoyable experience while managing large crowds during the event.
Well Played Studios worked with Visa to build an AR application that could introduce and promote the Tap To Pay feature and showcase Visa’s vision of the future of e-commerce.
Well Played Studios partnered with Visa to create an augmented reality app designed to promote Visa’s Tap to Pay feature and highlight the future of e-commerce. In the app, users can select items from a virtual glass display case and “kick” them through a field goal to add them to their shopping cart. When ready to check out, users can simply tap a button to complete their purchase using Visa’s Tap to Pay, blending fun, interactive gameplay with a seamless payment process.
Results
The AR experience was showcased at the Super Bowl Fan Experience, where it was demoed for thousands of attendees and received overwhelming positive feedback. In addition to creating engaging content featuring NFL stars like Eli Manning and Saquon Barkley, the experience generated significant buzz for Visa. Due to its success, Visa requested an updated version to be presented at the NFL Draft a few months later, further solidifying the app's impact and appeal to both consumers and partners.
