Leveraging our expertise in augmented reality and immersive technology, we collaborated closely with Orcana’s team to create a secure, OR-specific solution that integrates seamlessly with intraoperative imaging systems such as C-Arm and O-Arm. Our work focused on enabling real-time, first-person point-of-view collaboration, gesture detection, and advanced image processing to enhance surgical precision and remote support. Together, we brought Orcana’s vision of transforming remote medical collaboration and image-guided surgery into a powerful, user-friendly reality.
Results
Well Played Studios’ collaboration with Orcana on the development of their Orcana MARSTM platform proved to be a success. The platform was instrumental in facilitating real-time augmented reality collaboration and advanced imaging integration during the height of COVID-19 protocols, which restricted medical representatives from entering operating rooms. Orcana MARSTM was successfully utilized in numerous spinal surgeries across California, enabling remote experts to provide crucial guidance and support while maintaining sterile environments and ensuring patient safety.
