The experience needed to adapt to different event sizes and setups, from small booths to larger spaces.

Solution

Well Played Studios designed the experience to run on a Quest 3 so that we could have a modular setup that could be easily scaled up or down, allowing the experience to be deployed in any event space without compromising quality or immersion.

Create an experience that was intense and thrilling without being too frightening, which might discourage people from trying it.

The team used suspenseful elements, like atmospheric sound and lighting, to build tension while keeping the visual and interactive content engaging but not overwhelming, ensuring a broad appeal.

Including the film's cute cat co-star required balancing its presence without undermining the tension of the experience.

The cat was introduced at key moments to provide brief relief from the tension, offering a unique, light-hearted interaction that complemented the overall suspenseful environment, enhancing the narrative without detracting from the immersion.

After the success of the A Quiet Place Part II VR experience, Well Played Studios was commissioned to create an immersive experience for the prequel A Quiet Place Day One, set in a New York City subway and featuring the film's cute cat co-star.

After the success of the A Quiet Place Part II VR experience, Well Played Studios was commissioned to create a new immersive experience for the prequel A Quiet Place Day One. Set in a New York City subway station, the experience immersed participants in the tense, eerie atmosphere of the film. This unique VR adventure also featured the adorable cat co-star from the movie, adding a surprising element to the suspenseful environment and building on the excitement from the previous project.

Results

The A Quiet Place Day One VR experience was a huge success, drawing in large crowds at Paramount events, including exclusive sessions for over 100 selected influencers. The intensity of the experience left participants so terrified that some even removed their headsets mid-experience, with one headset breaking as a result. The overwhelming response demonstrated the immersive and gripping nature of the event, creating unforgettable moments that resonated with fans and influencers alike.
